Thala Ajith and Tamanna starred Veeram directed by Siruthai Siva reaped in gold to its makers earning good talks from all sections of audiences. Vijaya Productions presenting Veeram reportedly earned Rs. 90 crores on its distribution, satellite and music rights.
Leading distributors all over India have owned Veeram distribution rights for fancy prices like, Kerala-Rs.1 crore, Karnataka-Rs.1.5 crores, Rs.7-9 crores around in UK, US and Malaysia. Whereas a leading Tollywood distributor has bought Veeram Telugu distribution rights for Rs. 3 crores.
There was huge competition to acquire Veeram satellite rights too. Finally, Sun Network has purchased Veeram TV rights for Rs.12 crores including Malayalam. Music Company Junglee owned Veeram audio marketing rights for Rs.1 crore.
Ajith is known as ‘King of Openings’ and thala has proved it again through Veeram. Rs.26 crores is Veeram Box office collections alone in Tamil Nadu and more than 5 crores in other parts of India. Following the reign, Veeram collected Rs.62.98 lakhs from UK, Rs.34.33 lakhs from Australia and Rs.71.03 lakhs from Malaysia.
As per movie bosses, Vijaya Productions made profits even before Veeram is released as they garnered around Rs.53-55 crores by selling Ajith’s Veeram rights itself and rely total business of Veeram is nearly Rs.90 crores till date.
